Alfalfa
0.5 – 1 g of the dried leaf with 1 cup of boiling water per day may be taken as a tea.
Calendula Flowers
1– 2 g of the flowers with 1 cup of boiling water, infuse for 10 – 15 minutes. Around 3 cups are commonly taken per day.
Chamomile
Use 3 g with 1 cup of boiling water, three or four times daily.
Dandelion Leaf Cut
Boil 1 cup of water with 2 – 3 g of tea for 10 – 15 minutes. Take 3 times a day. The leaves can also be eaten raw in salads.
Dandelion Root Raw
Boil 1 cup of water with 2 – 3 g of tea for 10 – 15 minutes. Take 3 times a day.
Dandelion Root Roasted
Boil 1 cup of water with 2 – 3 g of tea for 10 – 15 minutes. Take 3 times a day.
Elder Flowers
A tea can be made by boiling 2 g of the dried flowers in 1 cup of water for 10 – 15 minutes. Drink hot 3 times a day. For colds or fevers, combine Elder Flowers with Peppermint or Yarrow.
Fennel Seedg
To make a tea, boil a 1 g of crushed seeds in 1 cup of water for 10 – 15 minutes, keeping the pot covered. Let cool, strain and drink 3 cups a day.
Fenugreek Kibbled
Use 0.5 g of kibbled seed in 1 cup of boiling water for 3 hours, strain, and aniseed or honey to taste. Drink several cups daily. Use of more than 100 g daily could cause stomach upset.
Ginger Root Cut
Combine 1 cup of boiling water with 1 g of ginger root tea and infuse for 5 – 10 minutes. Drink as needed.
Hawthorn Berries
Bring a heaped teaspoon to the boil in 200-250ml water and simmer over a medium heat for 8-10 minutes. Allow to cool for a few minutes before drinking. Optional: you can soak the berries overnight in a little water to soften and draw out the flavour, if preferred.
Horsetail Herb
Pour 1 cup of boiling water over 2 g of Horsetail and infuse for 15 – 20 minutes. Take 3 times a day.
Juniper Berries
Combine 1 cup of boiling water with 1 g of crushed Juniper Berries and infuse for 15 – 20 minutes. Drink 2 cups a day, one in the morning and one in the evening.
Lemon Balm Herb
Combine 2 – 4 g daily of the dried herb with a cup of boiling water to make a tea. Infuse for 10-15 minutes and drink daily.
Liquorice Root Cut
Combine 2 – 4 g of the root in a cup of water, bring to the boil then simmer for 10 – 15 minutes. Take 3 times a day after meals.
Liquorice Root Powder
Combine 2 – 4 g of the root in a cup of water, bring to the boil then simmer for 10 – 15 minutes. Take 3 times a day after meals.
Linden Flowers
To make a tea, combine a cup of boiling water with a 2 g of Linden Flower and infuse for 10 – 15 minutes. For a diaphoretic effect in fever, use 4 – 6 g. Take 3 times a day.
Nettle Herb
Combine 1 – 3 g of the dried herb with a cup of boiling water and infuse for 10-15 minutes.
Peppermint Fine Cut
To make a tea, pour 1 cup of boiling water over 2 g of peppermint leaves. Infuse for 10 – 15 minutes and drink 3 – 4 times daily.
Raspberry leaf
Combine 1 cup of boiling water with 2 g of the dried herb, infuse for 10 – 15 minutes. Take as needed, however 2 – 3 cups are commonly taken during pregnancy.
Red Clover
To make a tea, combine 2 – 3 g of dried flowers with 1 cup of boiling water and steep for 10 – 15 minutes with 3 cups taken daily.
Rosehip Granules
Combine 2 – 3 g of the granules with 1 cup of water and bring to the boil then simmer for 10 – 15 minutes. Take as required.
Sage Leaf
Combine 1 cup of boiling water with 1 – 2 g of the leaves to make a tea, infusing for 10 – 15 minutes. Drink 3 times daily.
Senna Leaf
If using the dried leaves, steep 0.5 – 2 g in warm water.
Senna Pods
The dried pods should be infused in 1 cup of warm water for 6 – 12 hours using 4 – 12 pods.
Valerian Root
To make a tea, combine 1 – 2 g of the dried herb with 1 cup of boiling water and let infuse for 10 – 15 minutes. Take 3 times a day.
Yarrow Herb
Combine 1 – 2 g with 1 cup of boiling water and infuse for 10 – 15 minutes. Drink hot 3 times a day, however if feverish, drink hourly.
Yerba Mate
To make the tea, infuse the dried herb in boiling water for 10 – 15 minutes, taking around 2 – 4 g daily.
