This document sets out the privacy policy of Medicines R Us Management Pty Ltd (ABN 85 678 010 216) (referred to in this privacy policy as ‘we’, ‘us’, or ‘our’).

We take our privacy obligations seriously and we’ve created this privacy policy to explain how we store, maintain, use and disclose personal information.

2 TYPES OF PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

(m) information about third parties; and

(n) any other information provided by you to us via our website or our online presence, or otherwise required by us or provided by you.

3 YOUR HEALTH INFORMATION

Health information that we may collect from you (see clause 2(j) above) is sensitive health information under the Privacy Act. We will only collect this information with your express consent or where required by law (such as under the National Health Act 1953). If you do not provide this information, we may not be able to dispense medicines or provide pharmacy services to you.

4 PERSONAL INFORMATION OF MINORS

If we collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18, we will assess their capacity to consent on a case-by-case basis in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APP) Guidelines. As a general principle, an individual under the age of 18 may have the capacity to consent if they demonstrate sufficient maturity to understand the nature and consequences of what is being proposed. Where it is determined that the individual does not have such capacity, we will seek verifiable consent from a parent or guardian.

If it is not practicable to assess capacity on a case-by-case basis, we will generally assume that individuals aged 15 and above have the capacity to provide consent, unless there are reasonable grounds to believe otherwise. Parents or guardians may contact us at info@medicinesrus.com.au to review, manage, or request deletion of their child’s personal information.

5 HOW WE COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION

(g) register for an online pharmacy account;

(h) participate in telehealth consultations;

(i) authorize access to your My Health Record;

(j) interact with your prescribing healthcare providers (who may provide us with prescription and clinical information); and

(k) invest in our business or enquire as to a potential purchase in our business.

6 COOKIES AND TRACKING

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies on our website to provide and improve our services. Cookies are small data files stored on your device that help with:

(a) website functionality;

We may disclose your personal information (including health information) third-party service providers who assist us in operating our business and providing pharmacy services, including cloud storage providers (such as Storbie), pharmacy software providers, electronic prescribing services, payment processors, and delivery services.

We also disclose health information to healthcare providers involved in your care, and to government agencies such as Services Australia/Medicare as required for PBS claims and regulatory compliance.

Some service providers may be located overseas. We take reasonable steps to ensure all third parties (whether in Australia or overseas) handle your personal information consistently with the Privacy Act.

8 SECURITY

We take reasonable steps to ensure your personal information is secure and protected from misuse or unauthorised access. Our information technology systems are password protected, and we use a range of administrative and technical measures to protect these systems. However, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information.

Our website may contain links to other websites. Those links are provided for convenience and may not remain current or be maintained. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those linked websites and we suggest you review the privacy policies of those websites before using them.
